Facebook Apps

I’ve gotten into Facebook a lot over the past few months and I’m now a FaceBeast(yes I made that up). I’ve always liked the simplicity of Facebook, the crap that is Myspace just isn’t appealing, I have an account and get many problems to log in. The difference with Facebook when compared to sites like hi5 or Myspace is that it focuses on strengthening the relationship you have with friends you already have, at least, to me.  Sites like Myspace and Hi5, they’re for the people looking to make it seem as though they have endless friends and that just isn’t me. I’m of the crazy opinion that if someone I don’t know adds me - they’re going to actually talk to me. Don’t add me if you aren’t going to talk to me - I am not a trophy!

I like the fact that Facebook Apps is allowing people to do a whole lot while not letting people screw up with the core of the site. I like the idea of people using “blocks” that they can move around on their page as opposed to editing HTML. It’s more user-friendly in any case, something Myspace is supposed to be, I believe. What Facebook Apps have you found that you liked?

I’m using the following:

X-Me - Do more than just ‘poke’, you can have people hug, kiss, bite, pinch or do anything really to you.

Extended Info - Facebook doesn’t even let you say what your favourite videogames are! Well now you can say who your favourite poets, animals and beverages are with Extended Info.

Last.Fm - I’ve always wanted a way to say what music I listened to last. Now there’s a plugin that ties into your last.fm account.

Rendezbook - rendezbook.com says it all!

I’ve seen a lot of other applications added by my friends and I’ve tried a few myself, such as a box.net widget, some app that lets you have a pet on your page and there’re some to integrate you flickr photos. What are some of the best/most interesting apps you’re using?

By the way, congrats to the Last.Fm team!
