Pownce-ing About

download-screen I’m trying out Pownce and I am going to say what I have been saying over and over and over again - I don’t get it. Twitter makes sense, but Twitter was annoying and I deleted the account. Pownce seems to be what Facebook already does and does well at that. Minus the file attachment thing, Facebook allows you to send messages to friends, it allows you to set up events and invite people, it allows you to send links, and if you need to send files you have many free services to choose from, omnidrive, mozy or my favourite, box.net which even has a Facebook Application to integrate into your account, meaning my saying Facebook didn’t allow for file transfer is technically wrong. I don’t get Pownce, bottom line. I’m still using it in hopes that I magically “get it” but for now I’m going to read what people are saying about it.

Good Riddance, Twitter

Posted in facebook, gmail, twitter, twitter is annoying by Evan on June 18th, 2007

I have been sick and tired of getting emails in Gmail from people on Twitter. I realized this service really serves me no purpose and it was a major annoyance. I would leave Gmail in a tab open and thanks to it auto-updating when there is a new email I would know if I actually had an important message or if something happened on Facebook. I barely read anything from people I followed on Twitter and I could just read a blog and be content with that.

Update: I wrote that in the middle of deleting the account and there’s a problem, I can’t delete my account. Every time I try to I get this message: “Something is amiss with your request.” We’ll see what happened.

Update 2: Finally, Twitter-free!
